WBCA All-State - Division 4 Boys

Tyler Tillema from Randolph was a unanimous selection on the 2009 Division 2 WBCA All-State team.

Tillema has continued the strong tradition at Randolph and led the Rockets to a 21-3 overall record this year.  The 6-3 senior averaged over 17 points per game as Randolph won yet another conference title.  Tillema was a WBCA All-State selection last year as well, and his brother Dan was a unanimous selection in 2007.

The rest of the Division 4 team consisted of Pat Alexander, Hillsboro; Brendan Bauer, Gilmanton; Alex Erdmann, Assumption; Connor Hendricks, Benton; Kane Hoffman, Benton; Kyle Kelm, Randolph; Hank Kujak, Blair-Taylor; Joe Meerdink, Sheboygan Christian; Taylor Patrick, Fall River.

Pat Alexander of Hillsboro is a repeat selection from last year and this season led Hillsboro to a Scenic Bluff title and an appearance in the sectional finals.  The 6-5 senior averaged over 18 points per game for the Tigers.

Brendan Bauer from Gilmanton High School averaged over 19 points and 13 rebounds per game this year.  The 6-4 senior led the Panthers to a regional championship.

Alex Erdmann has been a key reason why Assumption will be playing in the Division 4 state title game.  The 6-2 senior averaged over 15 points per game for the Royals and an impressive 4.5 steals per game as well.

Connor Hendricks of Benton poured in over 14 points per game for Coach Jim Blaine’s Zephyrs.  The 6-1 senior is a key reason Benton will be playing in their first ever state title game.

Kane Hoffman also of Benton has been an outstanding all-around player during the Zephyrs’ state title game run.  The 5-10 senior did a little bit of everything, including contributing nearly 9 points per game and leading the team in assists and steals per game.

Kyle Kelm of Randolph poured in over 18 points per game for the Rockets this year.  The 6-9 junior improved his overall game and is one of the deadliest three-point shooters in the state.

Hank Kujak was a big contributor in Blair-Taylor’s run to the state tournament.  The 6-2 sophomore averaged over 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists per game for the Wildcats.

Joe Meerdink from Sheboygan Christian led the Eagles to a sectional final appearance to cap off a 22-2 season.  The 6-4 senior averaged over 11 points and 7 rebounds per game this year.

Taylor Patrick led his Fall River squad to a perfect record in the Trailways-South Conference.  The 6-5 senior poured in over 14 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Voting Process
Nominees were gathered from those players that were named first-team all-conference as well as individual coach nominations, for conferences that voted after the submission deadline. Coach panels were selected by the WBCA Division Reps. WisSports.net facilitated the nomination and voting process.

Each coach on the panel selected ten boys as all-state and two for honorable mention. All-State votes were worth two points and honorable mention votes were worth one point. The top ten vote getters were named WBCA All-State. To qualify for honorable mention a player needed 3 points in Divisions 2, 3 and 4 and 5 points in Division 1.
