South teams won 3 of the 4 WBCA divisional All-Star games held at the UW Fieldhouse on Saturday. The Division 1 North squad was the only team to get a win among the North teams, with the Division 2, 3, and 4 South teams earning relatively easy victories.
The event also served as a fund-raiser for the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer), with each player and coach required to raise money for this worthwhile charity. Jade Royston of Wisconsin Dells was the leading fund-raiser among the players, setting a new record for player fund-raising. Other top fund-raisers included Jake Bast of New Glarus, Jordan Tenneson of Blair-Taylor, Connor Hendricks of Benton, Mike Boebel of Marshall, Patrick Drew of New Berlin Eisenhower, and Miles Hookstead of Whitewater. Head Coach Steve Showalter of Germantown was the leading fund-raiser among coaches. This year's totals will add to the over $1.5 million that has been raised for the MACC Fund via the girls and boys WBCA all-star games since their inceptions.

Division 1
The Division 1 North team was led by Marquette recruit and WBCA Mr. Basketball Jeronne Maymon's 20 points and 12 rebounds, while picking up key contributions from guards Jordan Giordanna, Jake Hottenstine, and Nolan Free on their way to a 92-87 win over the South squad. The South team had four players in double-figures scoring (Ed Reed, Ben Averkamp, Jamil Wilson, and Antone Byrd), but did not have the overall balance of the North team. An over-reliance on the three-point shot (just 5 of 25) also hurt the South squad. The North team also used their size inside to secure a 65-52 rebounding advantage.

Division 4
Connor Hendricks' jumper with 2 seconds left put the finishing touches on a 100-63 South team win. The South team featured well-balanced scoring, with six players in double figures: Derek Flesch (18), Reese Hartlage (15), Connor Hendricks (13), Pat Alexander (10), Brendan Bauer (10), Tyler Tillema (10). The South used their aggressiveness and size (the North team had just one player over 6-3, while the South team had four) to punish the North inside, out-rebounding them 55-40 and out-scoring them in the paint 50-28. The game was much closer than the final score indicated however, as the North squad pulled within 55-51 with 4:21 left in the third on a layup by Jarrod Martell. The South went on a 15-4 run to close out the third quarter though and pulled away in the fourth. The North team was led by Don Anderson's 13 points.
